About The Position

GE Vernova is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Capex Engineer to support the planning, management, and delivery of capital projects across three manufacturing sites located in Parsippany, NJ; Allentown, PA; and Százhalombatta, Hungary. This role is based in Parsippany, NJ and is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of capital expenditures ranging from $25,000 to $10,000,000, including primarily capital equipment projects as well as selected infrastructure and facilities projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, cost tracking, and project execution, and will be comfortable working cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, Accounting, Finance, vendors, and contractors to support both standard and ramp capital budgets and drive successful project implementation across sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing capital projects in industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, tracking, and execution.
  • 5+ years of experience managing capital project portfolios or individual projects ranging from $25,000 to $10,000,000.
  • Experience with capital equipment installation and implementation.
  • Experience with financial management of capital projects, including tracking capital spend, forecasting, and budget performance.
  • Experience working with vendors, contractors, and internal business partners to successfully deliver projects.
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment
  • This is a 100% onsite position.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital projects from initiation through completion across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with business priorities, technical requirements, and financial objectives.
  • Lead project planning activities including scope definition, budget development, scheduling, resource coordination, and execution tracking.
  • Oversee capital project budgets for facilities in Parsippany, NJ; Allentown, PA; and Százhalombatta, Hungary.
  • Support and manage a range of projects valued between $25,000 and $10,000,000.
  • Execute projects involving primarily capital equipment, with additional responsibility for infrastructure and facilities-related improvements.
  • Track project costs, schedules, milestones, risks, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination among Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, Accounting, and Finance teams.
  • Work effectively across organizational silos to remove barriers, align stakeholders, and drive project execution.
  • Coordinate and manage external vendors and contractors, including scope review, performance monitoring, and execution support.
  • Ensure capital projects comply with applicable safety, quality, engineering, and financial processes and standards.
  • Provide regular project status updates, budget reporting, and execution summaries to site and business leadership.
  • Support capital planning processes for both standard and ramp budget initiatives.
  • Travel approximately 25%, depending on project demands and business needs, to support project execution across sites.
