About The Position

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a cardiology technician to join our team at ourSt John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN! The Cardiology Technician is responsible for providing diagnostic testing inpatients and outpatients. This includes 12-Lead ECGs, Holter, Event and BP monitor application. The Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, retrieval of supplies for/from different units, and retrieval/restocking of linen. Schedule: This position will be 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). This position follows a Thursday through Sunday block schedule of four consecutive nights on and three nights off. Employees are required to work scheduled shifts that fall on holidays, with holiday pay provided in accordance with policy. As a Cardiology Technician, you will be responsible for: Performing ECG’s, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor. Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients. Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling. Maintaining all testing equipment. Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks. Initiating service calls on equipment not working. In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS). Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 0-2 years EKG or patient care experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
  • Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience
  • 2-4 years of EKG or patient care experience
