About The Position
Assignment Length: April through July Start Date: April 6 or as soon as credentialed Openings: 1 Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search Practice Setting: Inpatient and Call coverage Average daily census 5-20 Schedule: 10-11 days per month Friday afternoon through next full week and weekend (either Sunday PM or Monday AM) Current open dates: 04/06 7:00a - 04/13 7:00a 04/20 7:00a - 06/01 7:00a Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 60-90 days
Requirements
- Willing to await licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- NPDB Self-Query report (dated within 30 days)
- Minimum 1-year Cardiothoracic Surgery or Critical Care experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
