Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff /ancillary staff in the transfer of patients from bed to bed, stretcher or wheelchair.
  • Educate and train new staff members in the responsibilities of the Care Team Associate role.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by nursing staff and unit management as needed in both routine and emergent situations.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely entry of information into computerized bed-management system.
  • Transport patient via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to destination. Includes taking patients to tests, transfers and discharges.
  • Transfer infusion pumps from pole to wheelchair, stretcher, and bed
  • Ensure equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, infusion pumps, etc. are routinely cleaned and available for use
  • Retrieve, tag, and deliver broken equipment to repair shop. Deliver equipment back to unit once repaired.
  • Supply and exchange medical gases throughout the facility as needed.
  • Perform routine cleaning and stocking of medical carts.
  • May function as an equipment and inventory technician who cleans, monitors, and maintains routine respiratory care equipment throughout the hospital.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
