The Career Advisor II provides career advising and programmatic support to students and alumni in alignment with institutional goals for student success and career readiness. This role independently plans, develops, and delivers career development services, resources, and initiatives that support career exploration, skill development, and job and internship preparation. Through one-on-one advising, group programming, and technology-enabled tools, the Career Advisor II guides individuals in aligning academic experiences with career pathways and employment outcomes. The position contributes to retention and post-graduation success by strengthening career confidence, engagement, and informed decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide personalized career advising and coaching to undergraduate and graduate students and alumni, including assessment of interests, skills, values, and goals. Guide career exploration, decision-making, job and graduate school pathways, and effective use of self-directed career resources. Support preparation of application materials, interviewing skills, and professional branding. Plan, coordinate, and deliver virtual and in-person workshops, presentations, career fairs, and recruiting events focused on career readiness and job search preparation. Collaborate on the promotion and marketing of events and programs, and support students in preparing for virtual recruiting environments and employer engagement activities. Support the development and maintenance of career-related content for websites, communications, job listings, and social media in collaboration with marketing. Assist with daily operations of the career services management system, online tools, and technology-enabled resources, including maintaining distribution lists and supporting self-service access for students and alumni. Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, alumni, faculty, and external communities to expand career connections and employment opportunities. Serve as a catalyst for networking, mentorship, and recruiting relationships, and assist employers with job posting and engagement tools. Identify and promote professional opportunities aligned with student and alumni career goals. Support graduate outcomes tracking and reporting in collaboration with Institutional Research and Academic Affairs to meet HEOA, DOE, and other regulatory requirements. Collect, analyze, and maintain graduate employment data, surveys, and documentation. Track student engagement and outcomes to support assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of methods and procedures for seeking professional employment including but not limited to resume and cover letter formats, social networking, job search and interviewing; strong writing, proof reading, and editing skills. Demonstrated experience with building impactful employer and external community partnerships. Skill in creating a supportive work environment where new ideas are solicited, evaluated, and implemented. Collaborative, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills. Strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty and employees in a predominantly online environment.
