About The Position

Hired is seeking Career Navigator is to create a welcoming environment for all guests who visit the CareerForce Center at Lake Street CareerForce, Minneapolis. The person in this role is responsible for responding to questions and referring to the appropriate resources. The Career Navigator will commit to a strength based, person centered approach to serve individuals and reduce racial disparities gaps. Due to the nature of this position, this role is not hybrid, and the Career Navigator must work on site.

Requirements

  • One to three years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience and/or desire to work effectively with people of all cultures, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Skills in written and oral communication.
  • Efficient organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize work.
  • Computer proficiency preferred or must have the ability to learn (examples: Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases)
  • Must be able to maintain regular business hours on site.
  • Able to sit for extended periods, perform computer and data entry functions.
  • Additional physical requirements that occur may not be listed above but are inherent in performing the position’s essential functions.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome potential CareerForce guests utilizing exceptional customer service skills.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all inquiries regarding programs and services.
  • Provide referrals when appropriate. This requires working knowledge of program components and eligibility.
  • Facilitate interpreter services as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication among all team members for coordinated services.
  • Perform data entry in Microsoft Office and program specific computerized record keeping and reporting systems, including but not limited to Excel spreadsheets and Workforce One (state record keeping systems).
  • Ensure and maintain data accuracy across record systems.
  • Maintain tracking system for referral and counselor assignments.
  • Understand and support Hired mission.
  • Adheres to Hired standard of conduct and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic that ensures honesty, conscientiousness, and dependability.
  • Assist, mentor and cooperate with others to encourage professional development.
  • Adapt and adjust to work environments of change, uncertainty, and ambiguity.
  • Carry out all job responsibilities in the spirit of equity and inclusion.
