The Caregiver Assistant (Uncertified) is responsible for assisting a Caregiver with duties in relation to safely providing for the resident’s care and well-being. It requires a responsible demeanor in order for the resident population to have confidence in your ability to provide for their care needs.

Requirements

  • High school graduate preferred
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Has familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population.
  • Attend and participate in the scheduled mandatory in-services and other scheduled meetings
  • Receives and maintains CPR/First Aid certification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience preferred, but not necessary. We are willing to train!

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Caregivers with the care needs a resident might require including, but not limited to, toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, and transferring from place to place.
  • Understands the resident alert status and what to be aware of where the resident is concerned and reports any changes immediately.
  • Understands and agrees to follow the resident’s interim service plan as care needs change.
  • Maintains awareness of the changing needs of the resident based on their service plan.
  • Notifies Resident Care Coordinator/Executive Director/Health Services Director (HSD) of resident changes of condition.
  • Assists the Caregivers in the dining room during mealtimes including, but not limited to, set up, take meal/beverage orders, serve, bus tables.
  • Assists the Life Enrichment staff with activities when required and/or be responsible for getting the residents to scheduled activities.
  • Assists the Caregivers with getting the resident ready and to the lobby for scheduled appointments.
  • Appropriately reports changes of resident conditions.
  • Assists the Caregivers and Housekeeping staff with assigned housekeeping duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or any other management staff.
