Your day as a Caregiver: Walnut House As a Personal Care Aide (PCA) at Walnut House, you will play a crucial role in providing direct personal care to residents in need of assistance with daily activities and mobility. Working under the guidance of the PCL MedTech, you will offer support with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, perineum care, and mobility. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring residents with specific risk behaviors closely. Beyond personal care, PCAs at CiminoCare also contribute to maintaining a clean and organized environment by providing housekeeping services. Your dedication and attention to detail will ensure that our facility remains safe, comfortable, and efficient for our residents. What we're looking for in a Caregiver: Walnut House To excel as a Personal Care Aide (PCA) at Walnut House, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with residents and colleagues. Compassion, patience, and empathy are crucial in providing care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols accurately ensures the safety and well-being of residents under your care. As a caregiver, being adaptable and responsive to changing situations is important for addressing residents' varying needs promptly. Basic knowledge of caregiving practices and techniques is advantageous, and a willingness to learn and adhere to company policies and procedures is necessary for success in this role.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols accurately ensures the safety and well-being of residents under your care.
  • Being adaptable and responsive to changing situations is important for addressing residents' varying needs promptly.
  • Each employee must have a physical examination and tuberculin test performed by a physician. The tests are to be completed (with results) within seven (7) days after hire (unless regulations stipulate completion before employment.) If the exams are not completed within this time, the employee will be placed on suspension until they are completed.
  • The Department of Social Services (DSS) licensing agency requires that fingerprint cards and an affidavit on criminal convictions be submitted for the purpose of conducting a criminal record review. The DSS will issue an approval or denial according to the criminal clearance reports. An approval must be obtained in order to retain employment
  • All employees must keep their FIRST-AID certification current.
  • At least some prior experience in caring for the elderly is preferred and be at least (18) years old.
  • Skill in compassionately caring for elderly, knowledge of proper caregiving techniques, and the ability to care for several residents at one time.
  • Must be able to maintain order and efficiency in performing job duties, maintain constant pace.
  • Must be able to handle stress well, stay calm under pressure.
  • Must be able to think and make decisions consistent with policies and procedures and licensing regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of caregiving practices and techniques is advantageous, and a willingness to learn and adhere to company policies and procedures is necessary for success in this role.
