About The Position

Are you seeking a flexible PRN (as needed) or part-time position with work hours that accommodate your schedule? Texas Panhandle Centers is hiring for Caregivers is responsible for supporting our clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily activities. No prior experience is required, making it an ideal entry-level position for those with a caring nature and a desire to help others. Employment will be either PRN (as needed) or part-time, depending on your availability, with opportunities to be a full-time staff member. Position: PRN or Part-Time Caregiver Location: Amarillo or Pampa, Texas Salary: $16.55/hr. Requirements

  • No experience required
  • Either a high school diploma; or GED; or three written professional letters of recommendation and the completion of competency tests
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)

  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • The Caregiver performs direct care for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting
  • The Caregiver is responsible for training, transporting, cooking, feeding, bathing, toileting, and other duties associated with daily living
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
