About The Position

The CUA Case Management Supervisor leads and supports a team of case managers, placing strong emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and professional development to enhance the quality of services provided to children, youth, and families. This role ensures that case managers are equipped with the skills, resources, and guidance necessary to meet performance expectations, achieve compliance with Net Community Care (NCC) policies as well as city, state, and federal regulations, and uphold the organization’s mission. Case Management Supervisor is accountable for maintaining operational and financial responsibility for the unit, ensuring that resources are managed effectively and that expenditures align with program goals and fiscal guidelines. The Supervisor also fosters a collaborative environment, guiding staff in problem-solving, aligning practices with policies, and ensuring that all actions support positive outcomes for families, partner agencies, and community stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and promote accountability. Work is performed under the general supervision of the CUA Case Management Director

Requirements

  • Experience leading and supervising staff, with strong skills in guiding, coaching, and supporting a team.
  • Understanding of the policies, procedures, and laws that guide child welfare services.
  • Knowledge of best practices and current trends in social service planning and child welfare.
  • Familiarity with the roles and resources of both public and private social service agencies, and how they work together to support families.
  • Awareness of social, economic, environmental, and health issues that impact children and families, including factors that may lead to placement or institutional care.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage daily operations and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups, including families, community partners, and government agencies.
  • Proficiency in English required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide a team of case managers, ensuring their work meets program standards and supports positive outcomes for children, youth, and families. Assign and review cases, monitor progress, and recommend changes to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance. Work closely with leadership on policies, rules, and procedures, and collaborate with public and private agencies to address service needs and resolve issues.
  • Screen cases to determine eligibility and service needs, review case details for risk factors, and ensure proper service plans are in place. Meet regularly with case managers to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps. Review and provide feedback on case documentation, recommend actions for case closures or transfers, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Provide ongoing coaching in social work techniques, laws, policies, and procedures. Identify staff training needs, address performance issues, and take corrective action when needed. Offer guidance and support to help case managers navigate complex cases and improve their professional skills.
  • When necessary, conduct field visits to meet with families, assess living situations, and verify case progress. Attend court hearings to provide testimony or support case managers in presenting information to the court.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external agencies and community partners to share resources, coordinate services, and problem solve challenges. Prepare reports, respond to inquires and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team maintains financial responsibility by reconciling expenses accurately and on time, in line with organizational policies. Monitor spending to ensure resources are used efficiently and align with program goals.
