About The Position

This is a case manager position and will serve as a campus advocate. Advocates support students, faculty, and staff who have experienced interpersonal violence including physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and other forms of harm. They provide confidential emotional support, case management, safety planning, and guidance through campus and criminal reporting processes. The advocate also connects individuals with on and off campus resources and helps promote a safe campus environment through outreach and education. Conducts individualized assessments to identify students' academic, personal, and social needs, developing tailored intervention plans to support their success and well-being. Provides ongoing case management and support by monitoring student progress, coordinating campus and community resources, and advocating for necessary accommodations or services. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus partners to address student concerns, ensuring a holistic approach to student success and retention. Serves as a primary contact for students in crisis or distress, offering guidance, referrals, and intervention strategies to promote stability and academic persistence. Maintains detailed and confidential records of student interactions, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant regulations while facilitating seamless communication among support teams. Leads prevention and outreach efforts by developing educational programs, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to promote student well-being and resilience.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience | 3 Years | Required
  • Bachelor's (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field (social work, counseling, or psychology) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with students referred for advocacy support, including some walk-in crisis intervention services.
  • Completing case management tasks, such as providing academic accommodations, coordinating housing and work accommodations, and other related tasks.
  • Participate in Weekly Case Review and Weekly Staff meetings.
  • Case Documentation is required utilizing our electronic medical records system.
  • Will create and foster communities that support people impacted by harm.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding Title IX, Clery, and Title VI.
  • Collaboration and partnerships with other campus departments, such as the University Counseling Center, UMatter: Student Support, and Advocacy, The Student Health Center, Title IX,The William Magee Center, Housing, and others is essential.
