About The Position

Performs advanced case management work. Work involves coordinating case management and program activities; and developing program goals, objectives, and procedures. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Criminal Justice, Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required three years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three years full-time, wage-earning criminal justice, case processing, counseling, inmate case management, or social work experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and management.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes.
  • Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
  • Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques.
  • Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.
  • Skill to develop and evaluate administrative and operational policies and procedures.
  • Skill to prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports.
  • Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
  • Skill in public address.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer operations experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of program planning and implementation preferred.
  • Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.
  • Skill to interpret and translate Spanish to English and English to Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures for the Justice Reinvestment grant program
  • Develops and implements service plans for inmate participants in the grant program
  • Documents case records and prepares reports
  • Assists with interagency and interagency service coordination and referral problems
  • Reviews inmates referred to the program and tracks progress through the case management process
  • Assists with program monitoring and evaluation
  • Participates in quality assurance and utilization review processes for case management to ensure quality services
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
