The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Caseworker to join our Diversion, Shelter and Housing (DSH) program. This case worker will be working with people who are experiencing homelessness/living outside to connect them with resources and find shelter and/or housing for them. The Caseworker will provide triage case work and outreach. Your role as a Caseworker: The Caseworker is a paraprofessional who actively supports the philosophy of the agency and maintains a high level of commitment to participants served. The Caseworker provides a supportive relationship with clients in need of services that address needs regarding mental health, substance use, and housing and facilitates their living independently in the community. SUCCESS FACTORS: The Individual Caseworker should actively support the philosophy of the agency and maintain a high level of commitment to program participants and staff. Personality traits should include: Supportive and receptive personality High energy and/or a demonstrated ability to engage families with voluntary services Philosophical commitment to the concept of human potential Goal orientation and the ability to construct thoughtful service plans in partnership with families Assertive and confident Performs well under stress and in the event of crisis Open, direct interpersonal style; works well as a team member Able to uphold professional boundaries Schedule: This is a full-time position, candidates will work an 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm. Location: This case worker will report to the Holyoke office and then spend part of their day, at least three days a week, in Berkshire County, most likely within the Pittsfield, MA community Pay rate is $21.53/hr.
