Summary Provides food, beverages and equipment for special events. Gathers all food and supplies, transports and sets up food service events and assists in clean-up after events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Depending upon location applying for, a minimum of two years experience in a catering environment preferred.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Depending on location, may be required to have a current valid driver’s license and meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably, displays experience working in the food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and maintains quality control of food and equipment, restocking supplies and cleaning and sanitizing food service areas.
  • Displays strong customer service skills and the ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Possesses creative skills to attractively present food items.
  • Exhibits good listening skills, effectively communicating with supervisors, co-workers, customers and staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with co-workers and staff.
  • Maintains quality control standards.
  • Operates equipment such as, but not limited to, cold holding equipment, hot holding equipment, beverage machines, catering tables/carts, convection and combination ovens and dish washing machines.
  • Depending on location, follows standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
  • Possesses ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
  • Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances.
