Our guests explore the island by day, then return to unwind in a peaceful and quiet setting surrounded by thoughtfully landscaped grounds. ​ LBI National Golf & Resort is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Catering Housemen to join our team of hospitality professionals. As a Catering Houseman, you will represent the resort by embodying the positive, professional, and outgoing disposition that LBI guests expect. While a background in the hospitality industry is preferred, we will provide training for candidates who reflect the values of our organization, and genuine desire to grow within the VIVAMEE family. Our Catering Housemen contribute a vital, hands-on role in supporting the Catering & the Housekeeping teams, ensuring events run smoothly and that all catering needs are met efficiently. Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
  • Ability to lift and carry forty pounds
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights & weekends
  • ​Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe certification preferred but not required
  • At least one year of experience in the food & beverage/catering industry is preferred
  • At least one year working within the hospitality industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, welcoming, and efficient service during catered events
  • Arrange furniture, tables, chairs, staging, and dance floors for banquets, events, and meetings
  • Distribute and set up audio-visual equipment, linens, china, and glassware
  • Maintain cleanliness in banquet rooms, hallways, and back-of-house storage areas, including vacuuming and cleaning up spills
  • Assist catering staff by replenishing supplies, moving heavy equipment, and adjusting room setups during events
  • Ensure all setups follow safety guidelines and fire codes; report any maintenance issues or hazards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned stations and service areas
  • Interact professionally with guests, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Assist with event room turnovers between events
  • Follow all standard operating VIVAMEE procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by other management
