About The Position

Achieve or exceed sales goals by effectively selling the event spaces, culinary offerings, and meeting and function planning services of Denū Hotel & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. This role will focus on building new client relationships while nurturing existing partnerships to maximize event revenue and create memorable guest experiences aligned with the Denū brand. Actively solicit new business opportunities through prospecting new customers including corporate groups, wedding planners, event planners, travel managers, travel agents, and social event clients. Utilize professional networks and local market connections to identify and open doors to new business opportunities within the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and greater Arizona market. Research local market trends, competitive set activity, and emerging client segments to strategically position Denū Hotel & Spa as a premier destination for meetings, weddings, and social events. Represent Denū Hotel & Spa within the local community and hospitality industry by actively participating in industry associations, networking events, trade shows, and community organizations. Conduct onsite property tours and presentations for prospective clients, participate in sales blitzes, and attend pre-event meetings, training sessions, and sales strategy meetings as required. Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and partners through consistent, professional communication and exceptional customer service. Position Denū Hotel & Spa as a trusted partner for events, meetings, and celebrations. Evaluate client requirements and event opportunities to ensure the hotel can successfully deliver the desired experience. Maintain strong knowledge of Phoenix hospitality trends, local competitors, and client needs. Respond to RFPs and inquiries by outlining event spaces, menus, and services; quoting pricing; and collaborating with hotel department leaders to plan event logistics including space requirements, culinary offerings, décor, and program flow. Prepare correspondence, internal booking reports, and detailed client records. Maintain accurate and organized client and prospect information within the hotel’s sales systems and CRM platform to track activity, bookings, and revenue production. Participate in Business Review Meetings and contribute to proactive sales strategies by researching new companies, developing targeted outreach campaigns, and presenting new business opportunities. Conduct familiarization tours and client site visits showcasing Denū Hotel & Spa’s unique spaces and offerings. Actively participate in the Phoenix community and hospitality network to build brand visibility and develop new business relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of catering or event sales experience within a hotel, resort, luxury venue, winery, or similar hospitality environment.
  • Experience working with multicultural weddings, social celebrations, or destination events is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of event cost control measures, including labor, food & beverage, and materials associated with meetings, weddings, and events.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel service standards, guest relations, and hospitality etiquette, with proven success selling in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Ability to follow structured sales processes that drive revenue while maintaining alignment with operational standards.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality sales techniques, including negotiation, upselling, and closing business.
  • Ability to analyze business opportunities and apply logic and reasoning to identify the best solutions and approaches to client needs.
