About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CDL Class A Flatbed Truck Driver to transport structural steel components to construction sites and fabrication facilities. This is a first-shift, local driving position, meaning no overnight travel and home every night. The ideal candidate has experience operating flatbed trucks and transporting heavy materials such as structural steel while following all safety and DOT regulations.

Requirements

Valid CDL Class A license (active and in good standing)
Experience operating flatbed trucks preferred
Experience transporting structural steel or heavy materials preferred
Ability to safely secure loads using chains, binders, and straps
Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR review
Must pass drug screening and background check
Strong commitment to safety and DOT compliance

Responsibilities

Safely operate a CDL Class A flatbed tractor-trailer to transport structural steel components, including beams, columns, plates, and fabricated assemblies.
Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, edge protectors, and dunnage in accordance with FMCSA cargo securement regulations and company safety standards.
Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cargo stability.
Coordinate with dispatchers, fabrication teams, and construction crews to ensure accurate pickup and delivery schedules.
Maintain DOT logs, delivery documentation, and compliance with federal and state transportation regulations.
Operate safely in varying road, weather, and jobsite conditions.
