Van Metre has a CDL Class A Driver position available in Winchester, VA ! Roles & Responsibilities: The CDL Driver (A) is responsible for loading and transporting materials from the manufacturing plant to the job site in a safe and efficient manner. Position Summary: Essential Responsibilities: Drive a truck rated over 26,001 lb. Operate a dump or flat bed with the possibility of an attached forklift. Ensure the correct loading of products onto the vehicle. Assist with loading, safely securing, and delivering factory framed cartridges to job sites. Deliver products to various locations. Unload products at job sites when necessary. Inspect the condition of the vehicle before and after use. Complete daily driver logs. Maintain an updated knowledge base and follow all DOT regulations. Maintain a safe vehicle and protect the load by complying with organization policies, procedures, and highway rules and regulations. Report any vehicle damage and repairs. Meet driver MVR requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Competencies: Exhibit a positive attitude. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills. Collaborate effectively with other teams in the organization. Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Capable of working one duty for eight to ten hours.
Requirements
- Must possess a Class A CDL driver license.
- Must meet company driving record requirements and provide a current Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must pass all preemployment screenings and background checks.
- Must provide a valid medical certificate.
- High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years previous experience
- Proven ability to apply math, writing, and language skills
- Requires vision, speech, and hearing
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Capable of working one duty for eight to ten hours.

- Salary: $28.50 - $31.50 an hour (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills) + annual Bonus potential
