About The Position

The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting goods from the Elkhart distribution center's to local customer locations within a 100-mile radius operating a semi tractor/trailer.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hold a valid CDL Class A
• Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulations.
• Good knowledge of local roads and truck routes
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations
• Clean driving record
• Physical fitness, hand-eye coordination, visual and hearing acuity
• Ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
• Ability to follow instructions and take directions with a cheerful outlook.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
• Ability to maintain focus, situational and spatial awareness.
• Ability to maintain a safe driving record.

• 1 year of CDL driving experience

Responsibilities

• Delivers freight.
• Manages proof of delivery paperwork from customers
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
• Checks mechanical aspects of vehicle.
• Performs inspections before and after a trip.
• Follows all safety rules.
• Operate a forklift; maintain forklift certification.
• Performs warehouse duties as needed.
• Maintain CDL Class A license to include DOT physical and driving requirements.
• Performs other duties as requested to full accountability.
