About the position

The position involves conducting and implementing marketing activities for the Career & Experiential Education Center (CEEC) at Mount St. Joseph University. The role includes designing and producing promotional materials for various events and services offered by the Career Center. The student employee will work with CEEC staff and University teams to create customized marketing campaigns and will serve as a primary point-of-contact for visitors to the Career Center. The position requires a high level of accuracy, initiative, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Write and produce marketing materials for internal & external clients of the Career Center.
  • Work with CEEC staff and University Teams to create customized marketing campaigns for Career Center events and services.
  • Design and produce flyers, table tents, posters, email and social media graphics, mailers/postcards, newsletters, etc.
  • Work with MSJ Marketing department to understand and implement University brand standards.
  • Establish and achieve long-range production deadlines necessary for publication.
  • Serve as a primary point-of-contact for visitors to the Career Center.
  • Assist student assistant(s) with special projects on occasion.
  • Initiate projects and see them through to completion.
  • Contribute to team effort by exploring new opportunities to enhance department services.
  • Attend regular check-in meetings with supervisor.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University.
  • Completed CED 220 Foundations of Professionalism course with a grade of C or higher.
  • At least sophomore standing with demonstrated writing and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience with design software such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Well organized, punctual, and reliable.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully with individuals at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graphic design or marketing background.
  • Photography and/or video editing skills.
  • Portfolio/Showcase of work to demonstrate design skills.
