About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Co-op to support efforts characterizing nucleic acid expression and function using in vitro cell-based assays. This individual will be focused on hands-on laboratory benchwork, will bring thoroughness and attention to detail, and will be scientifically curious. The candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a BS or MS program in Biology, Immunology, Virology, or related field
  • Laboratory skills relevant to a biosafety level 2 environment and cell culture work are required
  • Highly motivated to execute at the bench and bring strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail and enthusiasm towards developing new skills
  • Ability to adapt, execute, absorb and implement learnings, and thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary and rapidly growing biotech environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with experimental design and hands-on execution of in vitro cell-based assays (e.g. flow cytometry, Incucyte-based and/or confocal imaging, luminescence-based assays) is preferred
  • Experience with nucleic acid delivery methods (transfection, nucleofection, LNP) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Culture and maintenance of cell lines and primary cells
  • Execute, troubleshoot and analyze data from cell-based assays evaluating nucleic acid function
  • Contribute to assay development efforts in a data-informed manner as required
  • Maintain up-to-date, excellent record keeping and share experimental methods and data effectively in both oral and written formats
  • Multitask between projects and pivot on experimental priorities as needed in alignment with company goals
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
