About The Position

Rightech, a Telecom and Low Voltage staffing firm, has immediate openings for the following: Cell-Site Technician Contract-to-hire Boston, MA Market (Based in Wilmington, MA) Technicians will be installing cell-site equipment including racks and other infrastructure, cabling, battery back-up units, etc. Equipment will then be powered-up and tested. Summary Description: Responsible for leading and performing skilled tasks to install, de-install, maintain and repair wireless telecommunications equipment and systems, with a focus on indoor and outdoor macro cell sites. This position will meet with the customer, collect job requirements, and assist the Manager in the development of the project scope and BOM. This position will be responsible to survey a project site, and be able to assess the environment, and apply appropriate design changes that may be required to successfully complete the scope of work. Training in Telecommunications installation standards such as FR-INSTALL-19, GR-1275-CORE, GR-63-CORE, etc… Carrier Installation Standards a plus. This position will install/terminate optical fiber and various sizes of power cable and other cable types, through conduit, in cable tray, above ceilings and between floors (lug/crimp terminations, wax cord lacing/sewing/stitching, all manner of iron work). This position will install/assemble/integrate DC Power Plants and Rectifiers (Live power systems integration), Valve Regulated Batteries, Converters, BTS, Backhaul (Ethernet, fiber and microwave), DAS and various other ancillary equipment. This position will be tasked with working as a lead on standard projects, maintaining project trackers, collecting and uploading closeout photos, and providing daily checklist updates to management. This position must be capable of performing test procedures with various types of test equipment (VOM Volt Ohm Meter, OTDR, Sweep, and PIM). All work to be completed in a safe manner to the highest quality standards (OSHA Certification preferred).

  • Must be able to travel out of town to support the needs of the business, and to work overtime including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the state of residence, and have a safe driving record in accordance with industry standards as a condition of initial and continued employment.

Nice To Haves
