About The Position

This position is responsible for: Plans, develops, implements, administers, evaluates and monitors an aggressive Direct Fund Raising Program targeting an assigned geographical area under the direction of the Corps Officer; develops and secures funds to reach/surpass fund-raising goals through a variety of financial development vehicles including; individual gifts and individual donor upgrading, corporate gifts and sponsorships, foundation support for specific programs and projects, government grants, integrated direct marketing and fundraising programs, and capital campaigns and special events, works directly and independently with local officer, their board and committees to develop local promotional plans; plans and coordinates all public relations activities and ensures compliance with the designated budget; confers directly with Divisional Development Director. Key Responsibilities: Plans, develops, implements, administers, and sustains an aggressive Development Plan targeting a specific geographical area; develops, plans and conducts appropriate fund-raising activities in support of the Command’s budget and programs; submits development plan to the Commanding Officer for review, direction and approval. Works with the Commanding Officer, Advisory Board, Regional Resource Development, Associate Planned Giving Associate, and committees to develop local promotional plans; conducts presentations to the advisory boards through respective committees. Develops, prepares, and monitors regular financial reports illustrating financial development progress; establishes and maintains an organized and efficient donor record-keeping system, utilizing the Territorial Donor Management System – InterChange, ensuring that accurate and complete records are prepared and maintained for each donor. Conducts surveys and studies; proposes policy changes, strategic plans, operational standards and as part of the Development Strategic Plan, annually identifies and recommends intermediate and long-rang goals as requested by the Divisional Commander, through the Divisional Development Director. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory on a frequent basis to work with divisional and local unit financial development staff, their donors, and professionals of their communities, as well as to participate in public, meetings, conferences, etc. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to understand and manage budgets and financial matters. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field, and Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in a comprehensive development program with progressively responsible experience and demonstrated success in Major gifts fundraising, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory on a frequent basis to work with divisional and local unit financial development staff, their donors, and professionals of their communities, as well as to participate in public, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to understand and manage budgets and financial matters.
