Central Processing Technicians have the opportunity to evolve an ever-changing department to provide services for the operating room, hospital floors and outside departments. What is a Central Processing Technician? CPT's play a vital role in assisting with prevention of infection by cleaning, sterilizing, processing, assembling, storing and distributing medical instruments. A great deal of precision is necessary to carry out this job effectively. If you are patient, detail-oriented, can take direction and prefer hands-on work, this is your opportunity to apply. Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieving and processing used instruments
  • Processing instruments with various chemicals to sterilize the instruments for future use
  • Ensuring the organization has an adequate inventory of instruments as needed
