About The Position

Full time, 40 hours per week. Position with Port of Seattle based in SeaTac, Washington. Telecommuting up to 90% of time allowed (some mandatory in office requirements as needed). Requirements

  • 4 years of experience working with different kinds of data at various levels of granularity and complexity. This must include the following:
  • 4 years in each: Using Excel lookup and if-statements, fuzzy lookup, pivot tables, VBA and macros.
  • Writing advanced SQL queries to pull data from database or data warehouse and scripting experience to process data for modeling.
  • Data visualization - Applying data visualization tools available in analytic environment (i.e., Excel, Tableau, Databricks, etc.) to support data discoveries and modeling.
  • Delivering and maintaining best practices in data acquisition, data integration, data visualization, optimization and implementation of business solutions.
  • Different data sources – Analyzing and synthesizing complex data from multiple sources.
  • 3 years in each: Performing data analysis and visualization – Designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to effectively deliver information to the business and client.
  • Defining data hierarchy, designing data table schemas, data mining, algorithms, numerical optimization and structuring queries in an analytic environment. (i.e., Databricks) .
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects involving data visualization, data gathering, data mining and data quality assessment.
  • Market analysis and research – Conducting market research on latest industry trends.
  • 1 year in each: Experience connecting to data systems (i.e., Contractor Data System (CDS), Vendor Connect (VC) Supplier System, and PeopleSoft Financial System) and extracting data into a formatting or visualization software.
  • Data validation/ auditing – Auditing databases for inaccurately entered vendor information.
  • Education & Outreach: Internal - Providing technical support reports to Executives and other organization members. External - Educating contractors and vendors on contractor data and supplier systems.
  • Predictive Analytics – Develop innovative statistical models by using structured and unstructured multi-dimensional data sources to detect patterns and behaviors.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with table architecture from our contractor data system, how our construction, service agreement and buying contracts are integrated into the system and pull the needed data with advanced query syntax (8%).
  • Audit existing vendors in our contractor data system and our vendor system, highlighting discrepancies, utilizing root cause analysis to provide solutions (3%).
  • Utilize PeopleSoft Financials system to collect contractor payment and certification information. Develop architectural metrics and reports by utilizing PeopleSoft Query Manager (10%).
  • Create reports using SQL skills from scratch by using multiple data sources. Identify more advanced methods of query optimization (7%).
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to analyze data and information to develop creative, rational solutions and data driven strategies (4%).
  • Perform data integration including data cleaning, validation, and auditing (7%).
  • Identify opportunities for standardization and define data flow hierarchy (2%).
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and technology (2%).
  • Ensure requirements are continuously validated and improved through stakeholder input (2%).
  • Apply knowledge of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, including regulatory compliance, FAA information, and working with DBE goals in public procurement. Incorporate knowledge of Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, and familiarity with Women and Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) Program to support compliance and track certifications on procurements.
  • Develop reports that highlight WMBE participation in projects, showcasing the utilization for executive leadership to improve attainment of business objectives (10%).
  • Utilize formatted data to create insights and regression models in MS Excel or another visualization tool to build construction/labor hours and SBE/WMBE utilization (3%).
  • Drive decision making by outlining business goals to department leaders (1%).
  • Define data hierarchy and algorithms, design data table schemas and numerical optimization, perform data mining, and structure queries (6%).
  • Aggregate and synthesize complex data to inform strategy, and process improvement. Utilize advanced data modeling techniques and contribute to the development of strategic plans aimed at achieving business goals (9%).
  • Apply advanced knowledge of data visualization tool by writing complex queries, optimizing calculation logic and automating dashboard (15%).
  • Drive innovation through data and implement solutions to advance the organization (1%).
  • Managing the end-to-end design, development, training and support of scalable solutions for metrics, reports, analysis, and dashboards which showcase SBE/WMBE monthly analytics to senior leadership (2%).
  • Utilize continuous process improvement methodologies to improve efficiencies within CPO (1%).
  • Pull data from multiple data sources, summarize findings and present findings to senior leadership team and Internal Audit (1%).
  • Respond to inquiries from internal auditors for annual audits and/or ad-hoc request and improve customer engagement (2%).
  • Develop, maintain and manage data integration reports on the internal team’s SharePoint site (4%).
