About The Position

At Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC), we know great care starts long before a patient arrives for their appointment. We’re looking for a Central Scheduler who brings organization, attention to detail, and a calm, friendly approach to coordinating care across our ancillary services. Requirements

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information
  • 1 year in healthcare field
  • 2 years experience in customer orientated services.
  • Ability to work basic computer functions.
  • Ability to use good phone etiquette.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; medical terminology or complete during 1st year.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare scheduling, clerical, or administrative roles preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and scheduling systems is a plus
  • Excellent skills in organization, prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain diverse technical problems in easy-to-understand language
  • Strong independent judgment and decision making skills
  • Must be patient-centered
  • CPR Certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for ancillary services with accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform clerical and administrative support functions related to scheduling and patient coordination
  • Gather, verify, and document required patient information to support accurate interpretation, coding, and billing of services
  • Communicate clearly with patients, providers, and clinical departments regarding appointment details and preparation
  • Maintain scheduling systems and ensure compliance with organizational policies and patient privacy standards
  • Serve as a key liaison between patients and clinical teams to support a positive care experience
