About The Position

HallMark Veterinary and Compliance Services is recruiting for a Certification Support Officer (CSO) to support export certification activities in Newark. This is a permanent, on-site role offering stability, consistent Monday–Friday working hours, and the opportunity to play a key part in supporting safe, compliant, and efficient export processes for businesses within the region. As part of HallMark’s Exports Team, you will provide essential support to Official Veterinarians, helping ensure that products of animal origin meet UK legislation and importing country requirements. Full training will be provided on relevant plants, systems, and export processes, along with support to obtain the required CSO qualification. As a Certification Support Officer, you will play a vital role in the export certification process by supporting documentation checks, product verification, and loading supervision. You will work closely with Official Veterinarians, site teams, and export clients to ensure consignments are prepared accurately and compliantly for export. This role is well suited to individuals with experience in warehouses, cold stores, logistics, or official controls who are highly organised, detail-focused, and looking to develop a career in export compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with documentation.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in a warehouse, cold store, logistics, or regulatory environment (desirable but not essential).
  • Willingness to obtain the OCQ(AHP) – CSO qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Academic eligibility for the CSO qualification includes one of the following: 3 A-levels, including at least one natural science or food production subject, or A UK university degree (any subject), or Equivalent qualifications (e.g. Scottish Highers or overseas qualifications).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting export or certification activities.
  • Experience working within food production, meat processing, or official controls environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance or regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support Official Veterinarians with export certification activities and preparation of Export Health Certificates.
  • Prepare and check export documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with certification requirements.
  • Assist with product inspection, labelling, and supervision of loading activities.
  • Ensure consignments meet UK legislation and importing country requirements prior to dispatch.
  • Liaise professionally with site teams and export clients to support smooth export operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete documentation in line with HallMark and regulatory systems.
