Certified Hand Therapist - CHT - Occupational Therapy - Per Diem
About The Position
At NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, our Occupational Therapists use advanced technology and best-practice techniques to restore and maximize patient mobility. The mission of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department is to provide patient-centered, evidence-based clinical care through interdisciplinary teamwork to impact our patients and the community through highly engaged, skilled and empathetic team. As a Certified Hand Therapist in the Occupational Therapy Department at NYP, you will provide high-quality care as you communicate with physicians, referring providers, multidisciplinary staff, and administrative personnel. We provide one-on-one therapies that are tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients. The Certified Hand Therapist will provide patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within their capabilities. This is a Wed and Friday days - 11:00 am - 7:00 pm shift. This position is located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Requirements
- Certified Hand Therapist
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
- New York State Occupational Therapy licensure
- At least 1 year of clinical Occupational Therapy and Hand Therapy experience
- Strong background in treating a wide range of upper extremity diagnoses, including post-surgical trauma, orthopedic, and rheumatologic disorders.
- Must be proficient in splinting.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
