About The Position

Skillforce is seeking a certified Hoist Operator for an ongoing project located inside the Dulles International Airport. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of Hoist experience and a valid Hoist certification. Pay and schedule: $24 per hour Monday through Friday, 6am to 3pm, 40 hours per week This site requires an application for badging and two separate site visits for this process.

Requirements

A valid hoist operator certification or license.
A valid OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety training.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Demonstrated experience operating hoisting equipment in a construction environments.
Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and rigging plans.
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Additional certifications in crane operation or rigging.
Familiarity with computerized hoist control systems and remote operation technology.
Basic knowledge of construction terminology and processes.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
Strong communication skills and experience working in diverse team environments.

Responsibilities

Operate hoisting equipment such as cranes, hoists, and winches to lift, move, and position heavy materials safely and accurately.
Conduct daily inspections of cables, hoists, and equipment; maintain, lubricate, and report defects.
Control hoists, winches, or cranes using levers, pedals, and throttles to lift and move materials.
Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision to complete assigned tasks.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily activities.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
