About The Position

Located in beautiful Northern California, Adventist Health Clear Lake has been a leading healthcare provider in Lake County since 1968. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and provide primary and specialty care services at clinics throughout the Lake, Butte & Tehama County areas to best serve our communities. Job Summary: Assists in planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients and in coordinating nursing care activities with other health care disciplines under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed vocational nurse (LVN). Works as a team with other staff members to achieve patient care objectives. Identifies and seeks solutions for any clinical problems and reports them to the affected department.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT): Required

Nice To Haves

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP
  • Phlebotomy certificate

Responsibilities

  • Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
  • Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
  • Assists the physician with office procedures: preparing instruments needed for suturing, providing equipment and solutions for biopsies, providing supplies needed for splinting, etc.
  • Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
  • Performs audiometry and vision testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
