About The Position

Iris Memory Care of Edmond is looking for Certified Medication Aides/Advanced Certified Medication Aides (CMA/ACMA). In particular, we are looking for people who have interest in double weekends and/or 3pm -11pm shifts. If you love memory care and have a heart for seniors, we'd love to meet you! We are a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community conveniently located off of Lake Hefner Parkway on 178th between Penn and May in West Edmond. We have a small campus with a total of 40 residents split between two buildings. As a community focused on memory care, all of our residents are coping with Alzheimer's or other form of dementia. We are an age-in-place community, so you will care for residents all throughout the spectrum of the disease. Rate of pay for CMAs starts at $17 per hour and starts at $18 per hour for ACMAs. Rate of pay is negotiable based upon experience. Priority will be given to candidates who have worked in memory care before. Specific Responsibilities: Responsible for providing Resident services and other duties as assigned. Duties include personal services, activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, life enrichment, meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident care and service delivery.

Requirements

• Must be an active on the OK Nurse Aide Registry
• Minimum one year experience in working with older adults as a personal care assistant preferred.
• Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
• Experience with dementia residents preferred.
• Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements.
• Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
• Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
• Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors.
• Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to Residents.
• Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all Residents and completes all required documentation.
• Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights
• Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
