About The Position

MaineGeneral is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Same Day Surgery Unit at the Thayer Center for Health. As a CNA in Same Day Surgery, you will play a vital role in assisting patients as they recover from anesthesia following surgical procedures.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
• Strong understanding of post-operative care and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate and patient-focused with a strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in PACU, surgical, or acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
• Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Greets patients and visitors.
• Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
• Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
