Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Clinic Assistant/Medical Assistant/CNA will work in a fast-paced team environment assisting patients and providers. The Clinic Assistant/Medical Assistant/CNA will, set up of rooms, perform vitals, patient intake, patient history, data entry of medications, and performs in house labs and injections as needed. The Clinic Assistant/Medical Assistant/CNA will maintain patient flow moving through the clinic. The Medical Assistant only will perform all duties upon documented competency. POSITION SCOPE Financial Responsibility – None Staff/Supervision – None PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES Greet and speak to patients and their family, co-workers, and all staff appropriately. Accurately maintain documentation in the patients Electronic Medical Record; Intake, vital signs, obtains patient history, medications, UDS reporting information and confirming the purpose of visit or treatment. Prepare exam room with appropriate supplies needed; Maintain cleanliness of all exam rooms and stocking of all supplies needed in exam rooms; maintain any equipment such as EKG/ NST machine included in the exam room. Prepare patient for exam by accompanying the patient to the exam room, providing examination gowns and drapes; helping position patient for the examination/and or treatment; Removal of socks and shoes if necessary; Arranging examination room, supplies and equipment. Properly set up patients and use of equipment such as NST and EKG machines. Assisting the Provider during the examination as instructed by the provider such as interpreting medical exams, procedures, results, etc… to patients in their preferred language. Ensure referrals are being sent, manage all medical records and faxes associated with GFH patients. Follow all lab procedures to collect, perform and enter results accurately for all in house CLIA Waved laboratory testing. Dispose of all bio-hazardous materials in the appropriate place, using expected safety measures. Draw labs, provide therapeutic injections, and vaccinations using appropriate methods and safety measures. Sterilize procedure tools and equipment as needed. Maintain safe, secure, healthy work environment by following and enforcing standard procedures, complying with legal regulations. Screen nurse line calls as directed. Follow HIPAA to maintain patient confidence and protect operations. Responsibility for any equipment that is assigned/checked out to you. Participates in all training offered by GFH. Comply with all requirements of the organization’s corporate compliance program as approved by the Board of Directors Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by Clinical Director, Clinic Manager, COO, or CEO
