Position Summary: The phlebotomist performs pre-analytic phases of clinical specimen collection and preparation primarily in an in-patient setting but may be requested to work in other areas of the lab as needed.
Requirements
- Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the two
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Nice To Haves
- Prefer one year of phlebotomy experience or completion of UCI phlebotomy program
