About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned) Apply person-centered principles & personal experiences to build relationships, trust, and rapport with clients ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team, in accordance with each client’s individualized treatment plan, needs, or concerns assist individuals in accessing community services and resources, addressing barriers related to clients' chemical dependence, and develop perspectives and skills to promote recovery empowers individuals in need by role modeling the recovery process, coaching evidence-based empowerment tools, and bringing hope back to people’s lives that recovery is possible Carry out routine case management duties as directed by senior staff Implement the regulations, policies, and procedures which pertain to peer-delivered services Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure Maintain standards of confidentiality of Lifeways’ clients and records Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with Lifeways, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA and HIPAA regulations Establish relationships and collaborate with local agencies to coordinate services The duties of this job require regular attendance and Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends Ability to work 5 days per week for a minimum of 40 hours per week Travel to other locations as necessary to complete essential job functions

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and work experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with clients who have substance use difficulties using harm reduction strategies in all interactions and interventions
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in substance use assessment, treatment, and service terminology
  • Must hold a Certified Recovery Mentor certification from a state-approved training program or be able to obtain the appropriate training/certifications within the time allowed.
  • Meets the definition of a Recovery Mentor as defined by the State of Oregon Administrative Rule: a) self-identified person currently or formerly receiving mental health services; OR b) a self-identified person in recovery from a substance abuse disorder, who meet the abstinence requirements for recovering staff in alcohol and other drug treatment programs; OR c) A family member of an individual who is a current or former recipient of addictions or mental health services.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Must pass a criminal background check
