About The Position

Working under the direction of the Manager, supervises sterile processing personnel performing all the daily activities of the Sterile Processing department, which include but are not limited to decontamination, assembly and counting of instrument sets, all methods of sterilization , maintaining specialty carts (CPR carts, disaster carts, Case Carts, Latex Allergy carts, GU carts) . Performs functions with conscious regard to procedures while interacting professionally with other departments within the system. Must have extensive knowledge of all operational aspects of a Sterile Processing department and be able to perform the following: identification, cleaning, inspection, testing, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments, operation of mechanical equipment used for cleaning and sterilization, working knowledge of all Regulatory and Infection Control policies and practices that govern CSPD (Central Sterile Processing Department), knowledge of ordering and inventory control, knowledge of medical terminology to identify surgical procedures, the ability to collect and analyze data and computer skills.
