About The Position

The Charge Nurse directs patient care during designated shifts and works closely with related departments to ensure patient care needs are addressed efficiently and effectively. This role combines clinical patient care, staff coordination, and operational oversight to ensure patients receive high-quality care in a safe and organized clinical environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma required
Current state license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certification
At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare facility required
EHR experience required (Athena preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, and office ethics

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
Ambulatory Surgery Center and/or Pain Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assist staff nurses in evaluating and assessing patient needs and providing direct patient care.
Order medications as prescribed.
Make patient rounds and identify problems that require follow-up.
Manage scheduling of patient appointments.
Receive shift reports on all patients and identify special patient care needs.
Adjust patient assignments to meet patient care needs.
Participate in staff conferences.
Work with related departments to ensure patient care issues are addressed during the shift.
Make nursing assignments for the following day.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
