About The Position

The Chassis Lab Garage Mechanic SBU will apply general mechanical knowledge to support the production and development of vehicles, including cars, SUV’s and trucks. The role includes diagnosis key vehicle systems, such as break, steering, suspension, electrical, and chassis, as well as performing rework to incorporate engineering changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Auto Service
  • Highly motivated, Self driven
  • Diagnostic tool capability (CDA, Canalyzer, WiTech, etc)
  • Perform full Vehicle Alignments (Hunter Alignment System)
  • Tire work - Mount, Balance, & Repair (Hunter Wheel Machines)
  • Responsible for supplying own tools, (applicable mechanical tool set required)
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Required interaction with vehicle engineering, & support personnel
  • Basic computer skills: MS office, Teams, Outlook email
  • Valid Driver’s license, with no physical restrictions

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) certified / State certification
  • Minimum 3 years of Auto Dealership service experience
  • Fabrication background (welding, drilling, cutting, etc.)
  • EV platform diagnostics
  • Familiar with vehicle test instrumentation installation.
  • Brake testing experience (LINK brake dynos, LINK brake testing equipment)
  • Able to work overtime and potential travel
