About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Cheese Manager to lead our Cheese Department while delivering “best in class” customer service and promoting the Oakes Farms culture. This role oversees daily operations including team leadership, ordering, inventory, merchandising, and product quality. The Cheese Manager plays a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience while maintaining high department standards and driving sales performance.

Requirements

• Previous experience in grocery, specialty food, or cheese retail required.
• Leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Gourmet Cheese Department in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage ordering, inventory, merchandising, and product quality.
• Cut, wrap, and maintain proper handling of specialty and artisanal cheeses.
• Create attractive displays that promote sales and product visibility.
• Maintain a clean, organized department following food safety standards.
• Train, coach, and support team members.
• Monitor product freshness, rotation, and department presentation.
