About The Position

Date: 08/22/24 Department: Food Service Ministry SOC Code: Location: Life Revitalization Center FLSA: Hourly non-exempt Reports to: Operations Manager EEO Code: Service Workers Responsibility: “Chef” – this role is responsible for the preparations of menus and offering high levels of hospitality to all we serve. Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to prepare and execute menus through large quantities of food, on a daily basis. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all
  • Knowledge of proper methods of storing food items
  • Ability to plan and organize food preparation and serving operations
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Works as an effective team member
  • Be proficient in basic computer knowledge, spreadsheet, word
  • ServSafe Certification

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in food service preferred but, not required

Responsibilities

  • Food preparation
  • Ensure quantity and quality of food production and service daily
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of food and supplies daily
  • Oversee volunteers and guests in the preparation of food in large quantities daily
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and all kitchen equipment daily
  • Follow ServSafe standards and company policies daily
  • Follow all procedures and safe work practices in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Prepare food by adhering to nutrition and presentation standards, and preparation procedures daily
  • Set up and tear down of food service line daily
  • Lead and participate with volunteers in the correct and consistent portioning and serving of menu items daily
  • Ensure guests, volunteers and staff are being served with superior hospitality daily
  • Prepare meals according to the menus provided by the Head Chef
  • Guarantee safe delivery of monetary donations daily
  • Complete daily check lists
  • Provide orientation, training, coaching, and addressing needs of both volunteers and guests daily
  • Prepare meals for CSMM residential houses in accordance with the Residential Meals procedure
  • Assist with catering prep and set-up both on and off site under the advisement of the Head Chef
  • Participate in the process of stocking and organizing kitchen food and supplies daily
  • Lead and participate with guest service volunteers in day to day kitchen duties to include: dish room duties (accepting, washing, and putting away of dishes), trash removal, cleaning and sanitation, and floor cleanliness
  • Aid in the evaluation of perishable and non perishable food donations under the guidance of the Head Chef
  • Maintain good relationships with all coworkers, CSMM guests, donors, contractors, vendors, and volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned
