About The Position

The Chemist position is responsible for evaluating the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances under minimal supervision. The Chemist will also perform various physical process tests to determine that processes conform to specifications in the Plating and Heat Treat areas.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • University degree in any Chemistry related field

Responsibilities

  • Verifies physical and chemical properties of materials and solutions using laboratory methods such as Titration, pH, ICP, etc.
  • Notify the Special Processes Management team of any out-of-specification conditions.
  • Maintain and operate the Waste Treatment system.
  • Perform manual labor associated with making chemical additions and new tank make-up.
  • Perform Pyrometry testing to maintain all the Heat Treat oven within specifications.
  • Maintain, manage and perform calibrations for the department including send outs.
  • Perform inventory of lab chemicals and process tank chemicals.
  • Participate in Quality Audits: Internal, External and NADCAP.
  • It takes an active role to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety standards and procedures are met and complied with.
  • Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
  • Collect and prepare data for Quarterly reports for all plating lines
  • Perform continuous improvement projects for the department.
