About The Position

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. The Chief Architecture Technical Lead serves as the senior architect responsible for defining, developing, and overseeing enterprise architecture products for our customer. The role leads the creation and evaluation of architectural views, frameworks, and technical baselines that guide system‑of‑systems modernization and long‑term enterprise design. The Technical Lead collaborates with System Program Offices (SPOs) and cross‑division architecture leads to ensure consistent architectural direction and alignment with mission objectives. The position supports enterprise-level architecture integration, trade studies, and gap analyses to inform investment decisions and capability evolution. Candidates must bring extensive experience in developing large‑scale technical architectures, coordinating with multi‑organization stakeholders, and guiding architecture teams supporting national security systems. This position in contingent upon contract award

Requirements

  • 15–20+ years of experience in systems engineering, enterprise architecture, or architecture development for large, complex programs or systems-of-systems.
  • Master of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science field.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing architecture development, trade studies, and technical baseline assessments in national security, Intelligence Community, or DoD environments.
  • Experience in Safe Agile practices tools, Release and system engineering.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams and coordinating architecture efforts across multiple technical or organizational divisions.
  • Experience with software acquisition.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in architecture development management for large, complex programs or systems of systems.
  • Experience developing or assessing DoDAF/UAF architecture products, MBSE models, or digital engineering artifacts.
  • Experience with architecture development supporting cloud-based systems, modern software architectures, or enterprise modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief Architect responsible for developing, refining, and maintaining enterprise architecture products and views.
  • Oversee and conduct architectural analyses, including trade studies, gap assessments, risk evaluations, and system-of-systems architectural reviews.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with SPOs on architectural items, ensuring alignment with program requirements, enterprise plans, and technical baselines.
  • Work closely with architecture leads across other divisions to synchronize architectural direction and resolve cross‑organizational architectural issues.
  • Guide the development and documentation of technical architecture artifacts, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and modeling frameworks.
  • Integrate architectural inputs from program offices, engineering teams, and mission partners to support cohesive enterprise architecture development.
  • Support enterprise planning activities by assessing architectural impacts and identifying modernization opportunities.
  • Ensure architectural concerns, recommendations, and updates are communicated effectively within the architecture team and leadership.
  • Provide oversight for architecture process improvements and alignment with evolving engineering methodologies and enterprise models.
