About The Position

This position assists and carries out all the following supervisory tasks and duties in the District Court by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet court needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned. Provides direct assistance to the Chief Court Clerk as required. Assumes responsibility for the operations of the District Court in the absence of the Chief Court Clerk. Assists Chief Court Clerk with software administrative duties. Endorses payments made to the court for deposit. Acts as liaison between the Deputy Court Clerks and other personnel and the Chief Court Clerk. Directly addresses the daily needs, concerns, and questions of the Deputy Court Clerks and other personnel. Approves the merging of multiple records of individuals into consolidated records. In the absence of the Chief Court Clerk or the designated deputy Court Clerk, completes the accounting procedures of monies collected and submits them to the Finance Department. In the absence of the Chief Court Clerk, reviews and approves the bi-weekly timesheets for the Deputy Court Clerks. Ensures that Deputy Court Clerks and other court personnel are following departmental and City policies and procedures. Supervises the daily activities of Deputy Court Clerks. Handles difficult customer's complaints from Deputy Court Clerks and other court personnel and resolves complaints when possible. Assists the Chief Court Clerk in the recruiting, screening, and hiring of applicants for the District Court.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five (5) years direct experience and/or training along with experience managing people; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a clearly demonstrated high ethical standard of conduct.
  • Impeccable reference are required.
  • Arkansas District Courts Clerk’s Association Certification (ADCCA)
  • Arkansas Criminal Information Center (ACIC)
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities
