About The Position

This is a full-time career opportunity that can be fully remote or hybrid within the Fulton footprint (DE, MD, PA, NJ, VA). Requires travel to corporate headquarters in Lancaster, PA (approximately 10-12 times a year). This role is responsible for establishing and leading an uplifted enterprise architecture capability that strengthens alignment between business strategy, regulatory obligations, and technology execution across the bank.This Chief Enterprise Architect serves as the primary architectural authority for the enterprise, ensuring technology strategies and investments are coherent, resilient, and positioned to support long term growth. The role provides the architectural foundation needed to modernize platforms, reduce complexity and risk, and enable consistent, disciplined technology decision making across the organization.Enterprise architecture under this role is positioned as a strategic enabler—supporting speed, innovation, and compliance while maintaining strong governance and architectural integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: technical related fields. (Required)
  • Master's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: technical related fields. (Required)
  • 12 or more years technology architecture with leadership at the enterprise level. (Required)
  • Proven ability to influence, lead change, and operate effectively at the executive level (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to align enterprise architecture with CIO led technology strategy (Required)
  • Familiarity with EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and modern architectural approaches (Required)
  • Strong communication skills (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years supervisory.
  • 10 or more years experience within banking or other highly regulated financial services environments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CIO to define and execute the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and standards consistent with the bank’s business strategy and risk appetite.
  • Establish and maintain a future state enterprise architecture and multi year roadmap.
  • Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, resiliency, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary advisor on architecture strategy, modernization priorities, and long term technology direction.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into actionable architectural guidance across application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security domains.
  • Design and lead enterprise architecture governance processes.
  • Establish and maintain architectural standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and governance review forums to optimize and allow better solution decision making.
  • Drive rationalization of legacy platforms, reduction of technical debt, and simplification of the technology landscape.
  • Guide modernization efforts across core systems, digital platforms, data and analytics, cloud services, and integration capabilities to balance agility with enterprise control.
  • Ensure enterprise architecture supports banking regulatory requirements, auditability, data governance, privacy, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Embed resilience, availability, and disaster recovery expectations into architectural designs.
  • Collaborate with Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and Audit partners to proactively manage architectural risk.
  • Build, lead, and mature the enterprise architecture function, including enterprise, domain, and architects.
  • Establish clear operating models, decision rights, and career paths within the architecture discipline.
  • Foster a collaborative, consultative culture that emphasizes influence, accountability, and practical outcomes.
  • Represent enterprise architecture across the enterprise.
  • Communicate architectural concepts clearly to technical and non technical audiences.
  • Build strong partnerships with business and technology leaders to ensure architecture is viewed as a trusted enabling function.
