About The Position

Chief Operating Officer (COO) West Pines Behavioral Health – Westminster, Colorado West Pines Behavioral Health is an established, fully operational behavioral health hospital serving the Denver metro and Front Range communities. With decades of experience delivering compassionate, evidence‑based mental health and substance use treatment, West Pines provides a comprehensive continuum of care including adult inpatient services, detoxification, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and age‑specific programming. The hospital offers a therapeutic, person‑centered environment supported by a multidisciplinary team of behavioral health professionals. The campus features calming courtyards, natural surroundings, and wellness‑oriented spaces designed to promote healing and recovery. We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee daily hospital operations and collaborate closely with clinical and administrative leaders. The ideal candidate will bring strong behavioral health operations expertise, a strategic mindset, and a passion for advancing excellence in safety, quality, and patient experience. About West Pines Behavioral Health West Pines provides integrated, compassionate care across a full spectrum of behavioral health services, including: Adult inpatient psychiatric treatment Medical detoxification and medication‑assisted treatment Partial Hospitalization (PHP) Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) Specialized programming designed to meet the needs of adults, seniors, and emerging age groups Evidence‑based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, expressive therapies, and trauma‑informed care West Pines remains committed to expanding access to high‑quality behavioral healthcare and strengthening its long‑standing role in supporting the well-being of Colorado communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years or more in a leadership role in a related field is required
  • Five or more years of hands-on clinical or hospital operations in the behavioral health field with supervisorial and personnel management experience
  • P&L responsibilities over service lines and/or departments

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Independent clinical licensure in CA (LPCC, LMFT, LWSW) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee one or more departments to ensure efficient operations and the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
  • Implement and manage programs that foster employee commitment to quality and service excellence.
  • Actively contribute to strategic planning initiatives, including regulatory compliance and quality improvement efforts.
  • Serve as the acting facility leader in the absence of the CEO.
  • Support the CEO in developing, communicating, and executing effective strategies and processes across the organization.
  • Lead departmental staff, including recruitment, development, training, performance management, and communication, to ensure optimal team performance and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in budget management, ensuring departments operate within financial limits.
  • Analyze operational processes to align with business objectives and meet patient care needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
