As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help customers solve problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to driving customer success. You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Chromatography systems. Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems. Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems Performs maintenance and repairs Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business. Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software. Train other field engineers and customers on the solutions. Territory Coverage The ideal candidate will reside in the state of WI and be close to a metro area (Milwaukee, Madison) The position requires an active driver's license. Company Vehicle Program: Either vehicle mileage reimbursement or a company car is eligible for this territory. Territory: WI, covering IL, IN as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or other university-level degrees in related science fields -- e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar are highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2+ years of experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting.
  • Experience or expertise with Chromatography (LC ) and Mass Spec (LCMS).
  • Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability; typically, system/ solution-focused.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential.
  • This position requires daily travel within the assigned territory and frequent visits to customer sites.
  • Travel requirements may vary by territory and are expected to be as high as 50- 75%.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.
