This recruitment is limited to current Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services - Pretrial Release Services Program employees only GRADE 15 LOCATION OF POSITION Clarence Mitchell Courthouse 100 North Charles Street Suite 508 Baltimore, MD 21202 POSITION DUTIES Administrative Officer III Supervisor is administrative work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans or policies. Employees in this classification are assigned administrative responsibilities involving the analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvements. Employees in this classification supervise professional and/or support staff.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Approves leave and time-sheet entries in WorkDay
  • Performs PEPs on subordinate staff
  • Monitors staff attendance
  • Counsels staff on job performance and the Policies and Procedures
  • Conducts staff meetings to disseminate information and discuss procedures
  • Assists, in subordinate Case Agent's absence, with the supervision of the caseload
  • Assists in Case Management Manager's absence, with the daily tasks and functions
  • Assigns Court appearances for subordinate staff, as required by the District and Circuit Courts
  • Monitors and reviews Agents' Case file and presentations assigned to the Court Unit
  • Reviews paperwork filed with the Courts by the Court Unit
  • Approves Supervision Agreements and Classification/Risk Assessments
  • Approves Classification overrides
  • Assigns caseload for supervision to subordinate staff
  • Reviews Case Agents' court compliance report
  • Conducts appropriate trainings
  • Coordinates with Intake to provide seamless supervision
  • Participates in the development of the PRSP's policies and procedures with management
  • Works collaboratively to connect his or her subordinate staff with the other staff within PRSP to ensure organization goals are achieved
  • Supervise and Organize Lab process: to include monitoring inventory of reagents and other lab supplies, monitoring proper collection process and storage supplies, maintaining report results, providing oversight to all subordinates who have been trained regarding the collection and recording process
  • Recommendations to the Manager to include: Changes in Policies and Procedures that would enhance operations, Level I/Level II reprimands and participating in training developments
  • Provision of Reports to include: Ensuring that the daily (and other) statistical reports are submitted by the staff to the Manager, Ensuring subordinate case numbers are correct, Creating and maintaining reports, as required
  • Assisting with the operation of the Case Management Section (as needed, or as directed), appearing in Court (as required), supervising and individual case load (as required), and performing other duties (as required).
