NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service. DOF's Property Valuation and Tax Mapping (PVTM) is responsible for valuing more than one million properties within the city and overseeing assessments and valuations in a fair and equitable manner. The valuations enable the efficient and effective collection of property tax revenues for New York City. An excellent opportunity is available in the Property Division to serve as a City Assessor Level IIIA performing property assessment work in the Property Condo, Errors, Remissions (CER) unit. The selected candidate will be responsible for physically examining and assessing properties for tax purposes using the three approaches to value real property: income, cost, and sales. At this level the selected candidate will be assigned the most complex (in terms of square footage, highest value and mixed-use) properties throughout the five boroughs. Assignments at this Tier level include properties in areas that are the least stable and require great attention to changing economic conditions.
