City Park - Seasonal Maintenance Crew Worker

About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform unskilled to semi-skilled and manual labor work in the maintenance of the city park. The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Responsibilities

Performs general laboring tasks in the City Park/Golf Course.
Participates in cleaning equipment, preventive maintenance, and makes minor repairs to equipment.
Operates a variety of trucks and equipment to perform tasks.
Inspects equipment and assigned work area for safety hazards.
Mows grass at parks; weed-eating and edging, measures, cuts and lays sod; mulches lawns; blows leaves; plants trees; trims trees; seeds; lays straw; removes trees and debris.
Picks up and disposes of litter; removes and replaces trash receptacles.
Shovels snow.
Pressure washes park facilities and equipment; paints as needed.
Assists with special events as needed.
May schedule use of the facility.
Performs other related duties as required.
