About The Position

The Civil Carpenter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing formwork, structures, and components used in civil infrastructure projects. This role supports utility projects and other large-scale construction works, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality workmanship.

Requirements

• Experience in civil, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid driver’s license (commercial license may be an asset)
• Strong knowledge of concrete formwork systems (wood, steel, modular forms)
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and layout equipment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of OSHA and job-site safety requirements
• Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build, install, and dismantle concrete formwork for footings, foundations, slabs, columns, walls, and structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, civil drawings, and specifications
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, steel forms, and other materials
• Install anchors, embeds, inserts, and reinforcing supports as required
• Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and curing processes
• Ensure work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and building codes
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
• Repair, modify, and maintain formwork and temporary structures
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades
• Mentor apprentices and laborers as required
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
